Top 5 Firefox Extensions

5) Greasemonkey adds DHTML to a page, letting users create their own scripts. After you download Greasemonkey, search the web for useful scripts. One script I found allows me to download YouTube videos, another one manages my blog links.

4) The del.icio.us extension adds great functionality to the del.icio.us service. The extension simply adds two nice looking buttons to your broswer; one button to tag items, and another button to view your tagged items.

3) BugMeNot is a great website, and now an extension as well. Sometimes, I will want to read a full article without creating an account, or I will want to AIM someone from an anonymous, throwaway account. I would visit bugmenot.com to get a username and password, entered into the database by everyday users. But this extension allows me to right-click in the username and password box, automatically acquire a username and password, and login without leaving the page. Nice!

2) DownThemAll is an extension that lets you download multiple things from a webpage at one time. For example, yesterday I was used this to download all the PDFs of old math contests here. Rather than download them individually, I opened DTA and set the filter to PDF. Voila! All the PDFs downloaded into one folder t the touch of a button!

1) All-in-One Gestures is my favorite extension, and I couldn't live without it. This extension lets you hold down the right-click button, and drag it along. Certain patterns do certain things. For example, if you "draw" an L on a page, it will close that tab. These gestures are easier to memorize than they might seem, and they save SO MUCH TIME.

Anyway, that's my top 5 (I couldn't think of 10), and I strongly suggest you try out all of them. If you know of any other good ones, post 'em in the comments section.

I like FoxyTunes, which lets you add a music player to firefox, and integrate iTunes, or any other music player you like.
